The UN White Hats Marathon, aims to improve the knowledge base about security in students with interests in software development, information security itself, or any area that uses software. Through competition, students can focus deeply in the subject, have fun, and learn at the same time. Currently the marathon is only for students in the National University of Colombia, but hopefully will be for all universities in Colombia the next semester. A white hat is a software security expert with deep knowledge of computing. A white hat is an ethical hacker, that uses her/his knowledge to protect, instead of attack, discovering and covering security flaws in software.
